CHILDREN OF BODOM - Hatebreeder
(Spinefarm 99')
What can I say ... the history of melodic death metal has always been progressing & developing all this while since the early days of
the Swedish Gotenburg sound with bands such as In Flames & Dark Tranquility . Now Children of Bodom comes along with their
second release of even more melodic death or should I say heavy metal ? Anyway , comparing between 'Something Wild' their debut
& 'Hatebreeder' is something which is really really hard to do . Both are extremely melodic but each album has their own strengths &
weaknesses . 'Hatebreeder' didn't really capture my attention on first listen probably because I couldn't tell the differences between
both albums but after repeated listens , 'Hatebreeder' is now burning up a lot of time on my stereo equipment . The play time on this
album is also about 40 minutes which is much better than their debut (more value for money ??) . Boosting excellent studio sound &
packaging , 'Hatebreeder' is an album which should not be ignored by fans of good metal music . Go & get it now !
